The idea for 'The Blue Room' Personal Fitness Studio came from the room's owner, Steve Leslie Lewis, pondering on how he could make the time to fit in his training sessions for triathlon and general fitness into his increasingly busy days. Working from his home office in Epsom, he watched daily as a regular stream of joggers ran past his office window, obviously on a quest to maintain, or develop their fitness levels, but due to his heavily business workload was finding it increasingly difficult to put the 'training hours' in.
In his role as Managing Director of The Mobile Music Company, Steve had built a 'state of the art' mini DJ/Recording studio to train and develop the members of his DJ team... However the studio was not being used anywhere as regularly as he had intended... So Steve took the bold decision to dismantle the music studio, and in it's place create a personal fitness studio.
This way, he could then use any spare time that he had during the day to get a short training session in, without the time overhead of having to travel to and from the gym.
He then thought that maybe the joggers that he had seen running past his office window may wish to do a little bit more than just jogging... maybe some cycling, rowing or weights... as a result of this, Steve has now opened the studio for use to local residents who wish to achieve their fitness aspirations without the use of a gym.

As a regular and consistent user of the Blue Room I like the fact that you can 'zone in' and focus on your fitness as and when you want. The room contains all the equipment you might want to use. There's no queuing for machines, and with direct access you can visit without having to speak to anyone - ideal when you just want to get there, exercise and then exit. However, if you do want to stop and chat Steve is only a bell-ring away, on hand to offer advice as and when required. I like the fact you can just drop in when you want. It's local, it's private and it's fully loaded. What more do you need?
I won some free Blue Room sessions as a prize at a school fete, and started doing some weights and cardio training.
The benefits for me are that the room is located two minutes from where I live, it's easy to book, and there's with no waiting for the equipment, that means that I can complete a workout session in 45 minutes. There is no obligation – just book when you want to go on a 'pay as you go' basis!
It helps if you know what your goals are: e.g. just a bit of exercise, to lose weight or something else? Steve can help you create a plan based on your needs.
